I was just cruising the internet when this jumped out at me – the summary!
When Auden decides to spend the summer before college with her father and stepmother in a small beach town, she finds herself freed to discover a new world of friendship with other girls, as well as an unexpected romance with Eli, a rising star on the BMX circuit and a fellow insomniac, who joins her in exploring the late night world of the small town. As Auden struggles to turn from the path her mother has set for her and Eli tries to come to terms with the death of a friend for which he holds himself responsible, the two break out of their mutual self-imposed isolation and find one another.
I am intrigued. I love Eli as the love interest’s name as it’s quite different than all the others. BMX? Love it, if you can ever be bothered try and find some video of Nicole Kidman in an Australian, 80s kid’s movie- BX Bandits. My fascination started there.
Setting? A small beach town. Do we think this might be Colby? Location of Keeping the Moon and roundabout location of the Queen’s beach house? Or is it a new location?

The setting actually does take place in Colby. Eli says it in the excerpt on her page. Something about “I’ve just seen the hottest girl in Colby.”

It is Colby, only its not Eli is not the ones who talks about the hottest girl in Colbie, but instead his little brother, Jake. This was usch an amazing book. Deffinetly deffinetly deffinetly worth reading :))

The book was okay; it was really easy to relate too. But, the ending wasn’t very good. If you love reading, I’d recommend it.

oh my gosh i just loved this book! i am at the end of the book and it way/is amazing ! i wish i was Auden in it because Eli sounded like a amazing friend/boyfriend. But i wasnt to glade of Audens dad robert he should of helped out more to her step mom and her.
yeah seriously i finished that book in one day straight i loved it and was sad when it end i wish i was auden i can’t stop thinking of eli and if anyone knows where colby is if it is real than cool cause i plan on moving there and i really want to know. and i think that moon book or what ever is in colby to cause on the distription it said last chance resurant and stuff but idk i havent read it yet i love that book. I really likes it. I read it in a weekend and it was one of my favorite books by her… although I have only read three of her other books. I still liked it. A lot.
